Three Lessons From Make Your Bed by William H. McRaven, published in 2017.
Number one: start your day with a task completed. This is what McRaven meant by “make your bed”. Be disciplined in the small things so that you can be disciplined in the big things.
Number two: failure can make you stronger. Some lessons must be learned through failure.
Do not avoid it. Accept it. Learn from it. You cannot learn all the things you need to know in life from books or from the experiences of others. There will be some lessons that are painful to learn – that you can only learn through failing over and over and over again. Life will keep putting that road block in your way until you learn from it. So learn from it.
Lastly, stand up to bullies. There are gonna be people in their lives that are so insecure or so hurt that they’re going to hurt others. And the only thing that they’re going to respond to is someone who stands up to them.
